She is the author of Kingfisher's recent Saints and Angels. Claire lives in Hertford, England. Dr Robert Ballard is a renowned underwater explorer who has taken part in more than 125 expeditions. Most famously, he was the man who discovered the sunken Titanic in 1985. He is President of the Institute for Exploration in Mystic, Connecticut, and director of the Institute for Archaeological Oceanography at the University of Rhode Island. He founded the Jason Foundation for Education - a project in which every year he leads a team of scientists, students and teachers on a two-week expedition to remote research locations, at sites such as the Galapagos Islands, Amazon rainforest and Hawaii. Currently he is a National Geographic explorer-in-residence.
